Diamond Dej is a dynamic songwriter, rapper, author, and content creator based in Nashville, Tennessee, originally hailing from St. Louis. Her music has been featured on popular TV shows such as ABC's Abbott Elementary and Grown-ish, as well as major advertising campaigns. With a distinctive style and a passion for storytelling, Diamond Dej is carving out her place in the music industry through compelling lyrics, infectious energy, and an unshakable commitment to authenticity.
Her journey began with poetry, using words to express emotions she couldn’t always say out loud. Over time, those poems evolved into rap cadences and song melodies, inspired by the diverse sounds of the Midwest, East Coast, South, and West Coast music scenes of the early 2000s. Growing up, she faced bullying, but music became her refuge—her way of finding confidence and standing tall in her truth. Today, that same spirit fuels her music, championing themes of empowerment, self-expression, and defying the boxes society tries to place people in.
In 2014, Diamond Dej attended college, immersing herself in the music scene and writing clubs by joining industry-related organizations, working for an indie record label, co-hosting a college radio show, and even participating in freestyle rap battles on campus. These experiences sharpened her skills in both writing and performance, laying the foundation for her artistry. She later secured an urban marketing internship at Atlantic Records in New York, which opened doors for a career in digital marketing while she simultaneously pursued her own music.
By late 2021, Diamond Dej took a leap of faith, relocating to Nashville to focus on songwriting. She partnered with Collab Music Network, a independent publishing company, and began building an extensive catalog for sync licensing. Fast forward to 2025, she has written over 120 songs and secured multiple placements across television and media. Diamond has also released her first self publish book, College Guys Ruin Lives and plans to write more books in the future with the hopes of adapting them into screenplays for TV and film.
With a signature blend of fun, feisty lyricism, a spunky delivery, and an undeniable presence, Diamond Dej continues to inspire audiences—especially women—to embrace their confidence and live unapologetically. Whether through bold anthems or heartfelt storytelling, she is a voice for self-empowerment, authenticity, and limitless potential.
